Lilies of Wavre: A Jewelry Set Inspired by History

Elegant and Sophisticated Design by Olga Yatskaer

The Lilies of Wavre jewelry collection was inspired by the coat of arms of the city of Wavre, Belgium. Its principal element is formed by three waterlilies connected with curved lines reminiscent of water herbs. The top of the piece resembles a crown. The collection is available in yellow and white gold, as well as silver. This jewelry set includes a necklace, earrings, and bracelets, available in different sizes, so that one can wear a more discreet version for everyday or a more glamorous one for special occasions.

The Lilies of Wavre collection, designed by Olga Yatskaer, delicately combines elegance and sophistication. The main element of the jewelry set is formed by three waterlilies connected with thin, curved lines reminiscent of water herbs. The top of the piece resembles a crown, adding a touch of regality to the design. The collection includes a necklace, earrings, and bracelets, available in different sizes, allowing individuals to choose a more discreet version for everyday wear or a more glamorous one for special events.

What sets the Lilies of Wavre collection apart is its attention to detail and craftsmanship. The pieces are available in 18k and 14k white gold with palladium, as well as rhodium-plated sterling silver. The production process involves manual design, 3D design and prototyping, high precision casting, laser and manual welding, and manual finishing. For the rhodium-plated white gold and silver versions, electroplating is also used for the finishing process.

The elements of the jewelry set come in various sizes, with dimensions of 1.5x1cm, 2x1.5cm, and 3x2.5cm. These elements can be combined to form single-element and multi-element necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The flexibility and convenient locks of the pieces ensure comfortable wearability.

The Lilies of Wavre collection was created in 2019 and took approximately two months to complete. It was first presented to the public at an art exhibition in Belgium. The design was inspired by the historical coat of arms of Wavre, which features three elements resembling waterlilies or hearts. The jewelry set aims to capture the spirit of the place, representing the marshy surroundings and the warmth and friendliness of its inhabitants.

Olga Yatskaer, the designer behind the Lilies of Wavre collection, conducted extensive research to create a jewelry set that would not only convey the coat of arms but also be an elegant and attractive piece for anyone, regardless of their knowledge of the town's history. The challenges faced during the design process included transforming a flat coat of arms into a three-dimensional design and ensuring the stability of the crown elements during printing and casting.

The Lilies of Wavre collection has received recognition for its exceptional design. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Jewelry, Eyewear, and Watch Design category in 2023. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The collection is a testament to Olga Yatskaer's talent and dedication to creating jewelry that combines historical inspiration with contemporary elegance.
